Drafting and wetsuit rules: do not assume one triathlon rule fits every race

Age-group drafting and wetsuit rules depend on the race. World Triathlon lists Standard, Middle and Long triathlon as draft-illegal, while Sprint can be either draft-legal or draft-illegal. Wetsuit use also depends on swim distance, age category and measured water conditions. Always check the rules for your actual event.

Drafting is format-specific
World Triathlon's current age-group FAQ shows that drafting status changes by discipline and distance. Sprint triathlon can use either option, while Standard, Middle and Long distance are listed as draft-illegal in that guidance.

Wetsuit rules are conditional
