HYROX is a hybrid event, so these findings are useful context rather than a validated HYROX-specific taper formula.

What the review suggests
The meta-analysis reported that strategies reducing training volume by roughly 41–60% while maintaining training intensity and frequency could improve time-trial performance in the included endurance literature. Effective taper durations in the analysis fell within a window of up to 21 days.
That does not mean every HYROX athlete should copy those percentages. Training history, accumulated fatigue, race experience, strength work and the athlete's response to reduced volume all matter.
Why HYROX needs extra caution
HYROX combines repeated running with functional stations. A taper that preserves running freshness but removes too much race-specific movement exposure could have different effects from a pure endurance taper.
